About Us
Our B & B:
Teach An Mhachaire (translated to 'The House on The Meadow' in English) is one of the newest bed and breakfasts in Doolin and run by Betty and Tommy Shannon.
Tommy was born and raised in Doolin and Betty just down the road in Lisdoonvarna. After moving to England in the late 1970's to raise a family, they returned to Ireland in 2000. The house was built in 2004 by Tommy himself, with help from his friends and family.
Things To Do in Doolin:
Doolin is famous for its traditional Irish music and tourists visit from all over the world to experience this first hand. Go into any of the local pubs on an evening and you will see why!
Teach An Mhachaire is located a short walk up the lane behind Gus O'Connors pub and within walking distance to Doolin Pier where trips can be booked to the Aran Islands.
The Cliffs of Moher (pictured), Doolin Cave and The Burren are all close by too.
Rooms:
All our rooms are modern, tastefully decorated and free Wi-Fi is available. Each double room has its own private shower room, with a TV and hairdryer.
There is also a family room available (pictured above) that can sleep 3 to 4 people. After a good nights sleep enjoy a Continental Breakfast before heading out to see the many attractions in Doolin and the surrounding area.
Your stay in our house will be just as comfortable as staying in your own house.
Outdoor Seating:
Although the weather in Ireland can be unpredictable, our summers can be absolutely glorious! But then again, so can Spring, Autumn and Winter.
We hope you can take advantage of our new outdoor seating area during your stay.
